How to play guitar for beginners

There are a lot of ways on learning how to play guitar. If you are a beginner, you may want to know on what you need to learn first and as well as what exactly are the things to get for you to play and practice guitar. Here's some overview on what to expect when starting to play guitar.

You should have a guitar

A guitar is a great instrument to create music. If you want to learn guitar, you should be able to play it. So basically, you need a fine sounding guitar to play. It doesn't have to be brand new. It doesn't have to look great, what matter's is that it sounds well.

The other things you need

Yes now you have a guitar, you want to know if it tunes well. You will need a tuner for that one. Fortunately you can find tuners online and download them. They are usually simple apps that you can download for free or if not, you can go for websites that offer tuners online. Another option, which is probably the best, is to have a dedicated tuner device, but you'll have to pay for it of course. However, if you have a piano or an organ, you can get the right key and tune the guitar from there. The standard tuning is as follows E, A, D, G, B, E.

You would probably need a good list of charts and diagrams for you to learn to play guitar. Basically, a chord chart will be of great purpose to you. You may also need a guitar pick. These are the basic things you'll need, but in terms of truly learning guitar, you expect more than just physical things. "Motivation and willingness" sure plays a big role. I'm certain you have those qualities already since you are interested in truly learning how to play, am I right? So carry on..

The guitar lessons to take

You will have to know the basics in guitar playing to truly play it. The basics involve playing chords, accompaniment and covering songs. All of these would start from understanding how the guitar works.

The guitar is a stringed instrument and you will have to press the strings with your fingers along the fret board to make variations of sounds. A note is a unique distinguishable sound that you get by hitting the clipping the strings. In this world we have a total of 12 distinguishable notes, which includes the sharps and flats. Furthermore, by clipping two or more strings, meaning more notes, is what forms chords. Chords are basically a combination of several notes played at once to ring out a single key. It is used in accompaniment with a band or a singer. The sound of a chord is "whole" compared to a single note that is of course "singular sounding". That's why you will need to learn the chords first and then learn to sing with it.

Once again learning chords is the first step you will have to face no matter what. This could be hard, but once you get through it, playing guitar would go smooth. There are some more techniques that you can have in learning chords and I'd probably add that on another module or lens. As for now, do your best and learn chords. Focus on it one at a time and truly start learning how to play guitar now. Good luck!
